Detention
I've just recently received a detention, for the first time ever. I just so happened to be opening the door to my seminar class instead of sitting in my seat when the bell rang. I was petrified. I acted as though I was confused and didn't know what was going on, but my teacher didn't seem to notice that I had the innocent, pleading expression on my face. Later that day I was called to the assistant principal's office. Of course no one else thought anything of it, considering my spotless reputation. The assistant principal was sympathetic, and gifted me with a nice little detention slip. I wasn't entirely sure how this was to come about, or where the room was in which we were to be held, for that matter. I was told the information necessary in order to acquire whatever there happened to be to acquire from my punishment, starting with the location, and to think of it as merely "working time after school." The following day, after the school's bell rang it's last, I made my way to the room where we juvenile delinquents are disciplined. My main concern was what this experience may inflict upon my current reputation. Fortunately, we are allowed to work on the computer in the next room over, in which those who are not in detention also work after school. Therefore, no one could tell whether I was in bondage or free, that is, of course, until you are called to leave by the guard. I concluded that detention wasn't to be dreaded or feared, however, I'm not planning to join my fellow disruptor of the peace anytime soon.
